The CMI has published CMI_2023, an updated version of the Mortality Projections Model, and the accompanying Working Paper 189. The new version incorporates recent population mortality data, with the Core version of the Model placing no weight on the exceptional experience of 2020 and 2021 and 15% weight on experience in 2022 and 2023.
A separate frequently asked questions (FAQs) page on CMI_2023 has also been issued. This is publicly available.
The Mortality Projections Committee of the CMI will host a meeting on 15 May 2024, in conjunction with the Staple Inn Actuarial Society (SIAS), to discuss the future outlook for mortality improvements. Further details are available from the SIAS website.
