Your opportunity to become IFoA President

Nominations for the next President of the IFoA closed at 16:00 GMT on Friday 15 March 2024. For details on all stages of the process, please see the selection process for President-elect 2024/25.

Following the recent changes to the IFoA’s governance, the successful nominee will serve one year as President-elect from the date of our Annual General Meeting (AGM) this year. They will then serve for 2 years as President, from our AGM in 2025 to our AGM in 2027.

What does the role of IFoA President involve?

The President is the Chair of Council and will be a Member Non-Executive on the IFoA Board. They are the figurehead of the IFoA and will act as an ambassador for the actuarial profession.

The role requires a collaborative leader with strong communication and chairing skills. As Council’s representative on the IFoA Board, they should also have experience of operating at Board level, either as an Executive adviser or a Board member. Having experience of the IFoA’s main boards and committees would also be desirable. To find more information on the role and expectations of our Board members, see: IFoA Non-Executive Directors.

The President is elected by Council and nominees must be a Fellow or Associate of the IFoA.
