Launch of the IFoA Member Survey 2022

08 November 2022

Take 3 minutes to let us know how we’re doing

This week, all IFoA members will be receiving an email from membersurvey@actuaries.org.uk containing your unique link to this year's IFoA Member survey.

The survey takes a few minutes to complete and for every completed entry we will donate £1 to the IFoA Foundation, providing financial support to actuarial students and others in financial hardship.

As you have probably noticed, over the last few years IFoA has been listening and learning to better provide what you need to meet the changing demands of your career.

On the basis of your feedback, we have:

  • held flat or reduced fees to deliver better value for money
  • published annual Impact Reports to show how we’re enhancing the profile of the profession
  • modernised CPD to make it more meaningful for your career
  • made online events free to access for all members
  • launched learning and credentials in banking, data science, climate and IFRS 17
  • built a new website with improved navigation and functionality, and
  • launched the IFoA Foundation to provide support for those working in the profession during difficult times.

Chief Executive, Stephen Mann, said:

“Through gathering data and developing insights we have an ever-better understanding of the wider IFoA membership and how we can support all of you in your career. Getting a richer understanding of what is important helps us to focus our efforts on your priorities knowing that they are grounded in evidence. So, when we know that your time is precious but there is a demand for learning support, we are, for example, able to launch a new and much simpler, modern virtual learning environment.

“But the power of our insight ultimately depends upon your participation to make sure we get as rich a picture as possible. Our 2021 full-length member survey saw a response rate of 12.5%. Our 2020 short survey hit 18.5%. The larger the sample, the more confidence we can have that we’re living up to our promise to be member-led.

“So I am asking you to help us by adding your voice this November – to keep improving, we need to hear from as many members as possible.”
