The General Insurance (GI) Asia International working party provides a forum for GI actuaries to explore local and international GI issues specifically impacting members in the Asia region.
Proactive volunteers who have a passion for advancing the profession and the time to contribute are encouraged to get involved. The opportunity is open to both members of the IFoA and to non-members who are working in the GI sector. We welcome applicants who have extensive experience, as well as those who are newer to the profession, including students. There is no requirement to be located in the Asia region, but prospective members should be interested in working on Asia-specific projects.
Please note: meetings will be held via video conferencing/conference call every two weeks. Attendance at the main monthly meeting is compulsory (with reasonable exceptions allowed), whereas attendance at the second meeting is encouraged but optional. Volunteers are not required to travel to participate in this working party, nor to meet in person, but members in the same location may take the lead in coordinating meetings in their offices or dialling in together, if they wish.
