Population Health Management Working Party update: why healthcare system leaders need actuaries

Tue 18 Jun 2024 -
09:30 - 10:30

The NHS interest in actuaries has been widely circulated and discussed in several publications. But we see the same questions come up during conversations with NHS leaders on what actuaries do.

The working party has developed a brochure for actuaries to present to health system leaders. It introduces the IFoA, actuaries, their skills (with focus on the ones most relevant to the health and care system), and a roadmap to engaging with actuaries.

In this session the working party intends to give an update on developments since our last publication in 2021.

The webinar:

  • gives an update on the conversations between the working party and different NHS leaders
  • explores raising the profile of actuaries within the NHS
  • explores how to engage with actuaries

It should be of interest to actuaries at all levels with an interest in the NHS and healthcare systems.
