5 July 2023 (Update)
Once again I would like to say sorry for the difficulty you have faced in accessing your exam results. This is certainly not the experience we want to provide to our members and we are working around the clock to resolve this issue.
Late last night (UK time) we deployed a temporary solution that allows access to the results letters for the majority of students. To achieve this we have had to restrict access to all other parts of the “My Account” area. Results letters for most candidates are now available and we have had a steady stream of people logging in overnight and this morning. A small number of letters have not downloaded cleanly into the temporary solution, we hope to rectify this very soon.
The underlying system continues to experience stability issues when we see high web traffic. We continue to monitor and may need to phase access to avoid the system crashing this morning. If you are unable to access your letter on the first attempt, please wait a while before trying again.
In parallel to the above temporary solution, we have been working with our third party suppliers to deploy a more stable solution, which is currently in testing.
We know that these problems have occurred multiple times around exam bookings and results days. This is due to a member portal platform that has reached the end of its lifecycle. For the past two years we have been working on building out a replacement, which we are hoping to roll out this summer.
Thank you for your patience as we try to bring you your exam results. We are very sorry for the delays you have experienced. We appreciate waiting for results can be a stressful experience and these technical difficulties will have only added to this anxiety. We are committed to putting this right and will keep you updated.
Yours sincerely

I would like to apologise that you are currently unable to access your exam results through the IFoA website. We know how much time and effort you will have put into studying and sitting the exams and how patient you have been in waiting for the results.
Publishing the exam results relies on a number of different technology platforms communicating with each other effectively and currently that is not happening. Our IT team has been working for the past few hours to try and resolve the problem and these efforts will be ongoing this evening and into tomorrow morning.
We acknowledge that this is not the first time we have had IT problems around exam booking and results days. These events lead to high volumes of website traffic and we had prepared for today’s results by adding additional resources and load testing all of our systems. Unfortunately these additional steps have not stopped today’s outage.
We are very sorry for what has happened today – it is not the experience that we want to provide to you. We are committed to publishing the exam results as quickly as we can and will communicate with you again tomorrow morning with a further update.
Yours sincerely
Anne Moore
