The next IFoA Southeast Asia Conference is in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 25 and 26 September. The goal is to produce a cross-practice actuarial conference for our members, non-members, industry specialists and stakeholders based in Asia.
We are seeking to appoint proactive and innovative Technical Content Chairs. We welcome applications from IFoA Fellows or Associates. However, we aim to capture a diverse range of perspectives. A place on the committee may also be offered to a student member or non-member who can demonstrate relevant experience and valuable ideas on technical content.
The Technical Content Chairs are responsible for curating the conference’s technical content, ensuring its relevance, alignment with the conference's theme, and appeal to the target audience. This role requires close collaboration with the organising committee, speakers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality sessions that reflect the latest trends and challenges in the actuarial profession.
A Technical Content Chair will be appointed for each prominent practice area. The chair will be the practice area lead and advise the Conference Chair on the best papers submitted for the conference within their practice area. They will be assisted in their choice of papers by the practice area technical committee members.
For more information on the role, please see the task and person specification (PDF, 140 MB).
The time commitment is equivalent to two working days per month, including following up on actions to meet event schedule deadlines.
There will be a maximum of eight meetings via conference call. All members of the committee are expected to attend every meeting.
The first meeting will be held in mid-March 2025. It will be attended by a representative of the IFoA Southeast Asia Team and the Conference Chair.
