The Financial Reporting Group supports the IFoA in the formulation and delivery of the IFoA’s opinion on accounting and financial reporting matters. It does so through consultation responses or wider engagement with stakeholders.
It also provides thought leadership in accounting and financial reporting issues affecting the relevant IFoA practice areas, for the UK and internationally.
The group has a primary focus on providing the IFoA’s input to the work of the International Actuarial Association (IAA) on IFRS17, including the work of the IAA’s Insurance Accounting Committee.

In May 2023, the IFoA had the opportunity to comment on the tentative agenda decision made by the IASB’s IFRS Interpretation Committee on the premiums receivable from an intermediary (IFRS 17 and IFRS 9). This response was supported and developed with the Financial Reporting Group.
