Sustainable Investment One Day Symposium – Programme Organising Committee – Chair and members

Application closing date: 9 March

Are you passionate about the intersection of sustainability and investment? Do you want to help shape the conversation on the future of finance?

Following the success of last year’s joint sustainability and investment in-person event, we are excited to launch our next one focused on the hottest issues in sustainable investment. The regulatory landscape is evolving rapidly, with new EU and UK sustainability rules, greenwashing concerns, and corporate ESG disclosures. Whether you are an expert in regulation, climate risk, impact investing, or the energy transition, we invite you to join the organising committee.

We are looking for a Chair who will guide the committee to shape the event’s key themes and structure and act as the main point of contact. You will be supported by an experienced Executive team at the IFoA. We are also looking for members who can help shape the agenda, identify thought-provoking speakers, and connect with the broader sustainability and investment communities.

The event will take place at Staple Inn Hall, High Holborn, London on 8 October 2025.

There will be an initial brainstorming Teams meeting to scope out content and speaker ideas and agree the overall theme for the event. Following this, we will hold two to three additional programme planning meetings throughout April/May. Thereafter, there will be touchpoints reviewing delegate sign-up numbers and offering light-touch peer review of speaker slides. Plus, there could be an opportunity to chair individual sessions at the event itself. You will be responsible for helping to promote the event amongst your networks.

Benefits of joining the committee include:

  • an opportunity to influence the technical content of the symposium
  • a chance to broaden your network
  • the opportunity to increase your awareness of current industry topics and issues
  • a chance to expand your current skills by chairing (or learning to chair) the organising committee and/or plenary session on the day
