Sustainability and Climate Change Working Party – members

Application closing date: 15 March

The IFoA is seeking to appoint members to the newly formed Sustainability and Climate Change Working Party. We would welcome applications from both IFoA members and suitably experienced non-members.

The IFoA has a thriving AI, data science and emerging technologies practice area, which supports several active and diverse, member-led working parties.

The scope of the Sustainability and Climate Change Working Party is to:

  • Examine applications of data science techniques to address sustainability and climate-related problems.
  • Produce related content, including in collaboration with other communities and practice boards.
  • Participate in the events and present results of the working party’s functioning.

We are keen to hear from you if you have a strong interest in how technology, particularly AI, can help solve some of the world’s biggest sustainability challenges, through an insurance/actuarial lens.

We are looking to appoint individuals with a variety of backgrounds and skills, including modelling, strategic thinking and presenting.

Time commitment

The time commitment is flexible depending on the time you have available and the type of work you wish to do, (modelling, reviewing, presenting). The time commitment could range from 2 hours to 2 days per month.
