General Insurance Asia International Working Party – members

Application closing date: ongoing

We are seeking expressions of interest from qualified members of the IFoA who have experience in pricing or data analytics.

The General Insurance Asia International Working Party provides a forum for general insurance (GI) actuaries to explore local and international GI issues specifically impacting members in the Asia region. We therefore particularly encourage applications from candidates who are based in the Asia-Pacific region.

We are ideally seeking volunteers who have:

  • a desire to contribute to the advancement of the GI IFoA community in Asia
  • experience of strategic processes, research, communications, and programme or events development
  • a good network of contacts within the Asia region and the enthusiasm to further grow this network
  • a passion for advancing the profession and the time to contribute

Time commitment

A minimum of one hour every month for working party meetings in addition to one to two hours per month for those actively contributing to the working party’s output.

The time commitment may increase towards the preparation and delivery of outputs. For example drafting surveys, preparing and delivering presentations at conferences, and conducting research.

Please note: Meetings will be held via video conferencing/conference call every 2 weeks. Attendance at the main monthly meeting is compulsory (with reasonable exceptions allowed). Attendance at the second meeting is encouraged but optional. Volunteers are not required to travel to participate in this working party, nor to meet in person. But members in the same location may take the lead in coordinating meetings in their offices or dialling in together, if they wish.
