Finance and Investment Board – communications, connectivity and engagement representative

Are you experienced in actively using social media and engaging audiences on digital platforms? We need your enthusiasm and expertise.

The Finance and Investment Board continues to evolve to:

  • better align itself with the community it represents
  • ensure the activities it oversees are of value to members in this practice area and the wider profession, with more visibility of our volunteers’ brilliant work

The board is now seeking an additional member who will help drive its communications and engagement activities.

The key objective is to:

  • strengthen connections among members of the finance and investment community
  • raise awareness of the wide range of research, lifelong learning and other personal and professional development-related activities

 

Who we’re looking for 

We are keen that the board includes representatives from a wide range of backgrounds and areas. This is to help ensure the committee can holistically consider the issues faced by finance and investment actuaries as they arise in their various fields.

We are ideally looking for an early career or student member to take on this role. The primary purpose is to support the member of the board tasked with overseeing our engagement activities, working with other board members and volunteers on this important initiative.

 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include to:

  • keep our social media account (LinkedIn) and the IFoA communities platform up to date and maintain a flow of postings to grow the visibility of our work
  • engage with our online community with content to promote discussion on relevant topics, liaising with the board, its sub-committees and our working parties to
  • help decide possible areas of interest
  • provide feedback to the board at each of its meetings on activities, progress made, and proposed future plans and ideas to be considered
  • contribute more generally as a member of the board

Time commitment

Generally, this role will require approximately one to two days per month, including attendance (dial in option available) at Finance and Investment Board meetings.
