We are currently recruiting a CERA Administrator for a Permanent contract.
This role is hybrid, both working from home and in our Edinburgh or Oxford hub.

The starting salary is £33,345.

Main purpose of the job
The CERA Global Association (“CGA”) is an organisation dedicated to promoting and administering the CERA credential worldwide. The credential is a qualification in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) that IFoA members and, via their local associations, global actuaries, can obtain in addition to Associate- and Fellowship. The functioning of the CGA is governed by a Treaty with signatories from 25 actuarial professional bodies around the globe, including the IFoA.
The main purpose of the CERA Administrator role is to support the Boards and Committees of CGA in the administration, development, promotion and growth of the CERA credential and the governance of the key Boards and Committees. This includes general administrative tasks, marketing and communications support as well as general corporate secretariat support.
The role holder will be a key point of connection and communication between the CERA Board members, other volunteers and other key stakeholders and service providers. The role requires the ability to guide people at all levels across the world. The business language is English.
The role holder will be employed by the IFoA but seconded to CGA. Some UK and possibly international travel may be required.
Principal accountabilities
a) Provision of general administrative and corporate secretary services:
- Organisation of meetings; collation of documents; preparation of agenda and papers; issuing packs prior to meetings; attendance at meetings; taking minutes; and following-up on actions arising for the CGA Board, CERA Treaty Board and its committees.
- Maintenance of a register of CERA credential holders and their contact details, and expeditious handling of lists of candidates for the designation.
- Maintenance of key governance documentation and process notes.
- Diary management, including managing the calendar for the Board and other CGA committees
- Building excellent working relationship with the Chair of the CGA Board and wider CGA leadership team
- Oversee administration of payments to and from CGA, including budget management and supporting internal/external audit processes. Liaise with the Finance Committee, external auditors and IFoA Finance team as required to ensure all financial controls and records are produced as necessary.
- Liaison and key point of contact for signatory associations
- Maintenance of a risk register
- With external professional/legal support (as required), ensure CGA complies with applicable legal/regulatory requirements (e.g. data protection obligations).
- Play a key role in identifying and delivering opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of CGA governance and general administration
- Devise and deliver an induction programme as guided by the chairs of the CGA Board and Review Panel.
- Any other administrative tasks as agreed from time to time with the role holder’s line manager and the CGA Board Chair.
b) Support the promotion, growth and development of the CERA credential:
- Provide strategic and tactical marketing support, e.g. prepare and distribute marketing material, manage CGA’s main platforms, i.e. website and social media, ensuring adherence to CGA brand guidelines.
- Liaise with the CGA Board and Strategy and Outreach Committee to ensure marketing meets the agreed CGA Strategy.
- Oversee the maintenance and development of a secure website (https://ceraglobal.org/) containing a database of CERA holders and other relevant information as required, liaising with external web developers and managing the relationship.
- Administration of audits of CERA credential holders
- Reporting to Board, as required, on administration, promotion and growth of the credential and supporting Board committees on strategic and outreach initiatives
- Support the events committee with development and delivery of the programme of in-house events and conferences and organisation of external events, including :
- Liaison with speakers and event organisers
- Liaison with sponsors
- Promotion of the event via the CGA’s channels (website, newsletter and LinkedIn)
- Creation and distribution of marketing materials
- Completion of any necessary paperwork (customs, permits etc)
- Possible attendance at events or receptions to represent the CGA
