Business Analyst

We are currently recruiting a Business Analyst for a Permanent contract. 
This role is hybrid, both working from home and in any of our offices.

We encourage our colleagues to work flexibly between home and the hub to suit their needs and preferences, in line with our hybrid working policy.
Colleagues are able to work their hours flexibly, in line with core business hours and requirements. We also offer formalised flexible working agreements.  

The starting salary is £54,055, or £57,760 if based in London.

Purpose of the job

To support the successful delivery of a strategic programme of technology and process change underpinning a global learning and assessment offering. The role will support the delivery of a new assessment function to a global market, implementing a new curriculum and assessment design, and supporting the rollout of new learning materials. As part of the programme team, the Business Analyst will work across academic, operational, and technology stakeholders to define, analyse, and manage business requirements, support solution design, and ensure that learning, assessment, and systems are aligned to programme/strategic objectives, regulatory expectations, and learner needs.

Principal accountabilities

  • Lead requirements elicitation and analysis across the programme
  • Translate curriculum and assessment design into clear business and functional requirements
  • Groom and maintain requirements to align with overall strategic and design principles
  • Manage the programme Design Authority, alongside senior users
  • Support design and delivery of a new global assessment function
  • Analyse and document as-is and to-be processes
  • Ensure alignment of curriculum outcomes, learning materials, assessments, and systems
  • Support solution design, backlog refinement, and delivery planning
  • Define acceptance criteria and support testing activities
  • Identify risks and support mitigation planning
  • Ensure regulatory, accessibility, and data protection compliance
  • Maintain traceability between requirements and delivered outcomes

Impact

Working as part of the PMO team, the Business Analyst will have a significant role in delivering transformational and strategic change in the IFOA. The Business Analyst will be responsible for ensuring process and practice redesign align with organisational strategy and best practice standards, and that delivery of change meets the quality standards required.

Decision-making and complexity

Understanding business problems and needs, providing analysis and design for solutions and help understanding of proposed solutions amongst business leaders. 

Cross functional problem solving and evolution of product roadmaps alongside technology suppliers, services and customer needs.

Maintain strategic and organisational view over process and practice as they go through change.

Competencies 

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst on complex change programmes
  • Strong requirements elicitation and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working with technology delivery teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable:

  • Experience in education, learning, or assessment environments
  • Experience with digital learning or assessment platforms
  • Business Analysis or related professional qualification
