Building on the success of our inaugural 2025 event, the IFoA’s Big Pitch returns for its second year
This unique event gives you the chance to vote for your favourite health and care research paper to be considered for possible further funding and publication in the British Actuarial Journal (BAJ).
Last year’s Big Pitch was a resounding success: all three papers are slated for publication in the BAJ. Vincent Bodnar’s research on a pension-linked social care product also inspired a major social care survey co-led by the IFoA Social Care Working Party in partnership with YouGov.
We are showcasing three dynamic presentations from leading thinkers and practitioners whose research is redefining the role of actuaries – from risk measurers to risk shapers. These papers explore how prevention, behavioural science, and advanced analytics can drive better health outcomes, financial sustainability, and insurer profitability.
After the presentations, you will have the chance to put the speakers on the spot during a lively Q&A and cast your vote for the most compelling research.
Join us for this free event on 18 March 2026 at Staple Inn to hear bold, forward-thinking ideas tackling the biggest challenges in health and care. All registrants will receive copies of the papers ahead of the event.
