Kenny Cheng, Director, EY

Kenny works in EY’s Risk and Actuarial Services team and has been supporting firms on ICS activities over the past 10 years.

Sam Chesterton is Vice President, Business Development, for RGA’s Global Financial Solutions (GFS) unit in the UK. His responsibilities include client-relationship management and the structuring, execution, and maintenance of longevity and funded reinsurance transactions in the UK and EMEA.

Sam joined RGA in 2016 as Director, Investment Solutions, for GFS where he was responsible for the pricing and structuring of reinsurance and acquisitions which incorporated market risk transfer.
Prior to RGA, Sam was a consultant for Willis Towers Watson in their Life Insurance division, focusing on M&A, outsourcing arrangements, and software solutions.

Sam received a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (with honours) from the University of Bristol and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (FIA). 

Associate Partner - 4most

Alex has a wealth of experience in the insurance market, starting his career in industry before moving to consulting. Leading 4most's automation capability, he has worked in multiple technical actuarial areas including reporting, pricing and strategic & regulatory change projects.

Most recently, specialising in IFRS17 process improvement, working across methodology, implementation and reporting areas; he has encountered the rewards & pitfalls associated with large-scale transformations.  

Client Partner – 4most
 
Cath is a client partner at 4most, where she leads the modelling proposition in the insurance division. Before joining 4most, she had over 25 years of experience in industry, working for FTSE100 insurers.  

After 15 years of focusing on capital management, business change, and risk, more recently, she has been focusing on finance change, including 5 years as Head of Modelling at Legal and General and Head of Actuarial Change at Phoenix. She is a passionate advocate for Diversity and Inclusion, and, in particular, LGBTQ+ issues.  

At the moment, a lot of Cath’s work time is spent on designing solutions to make clients’ systems more efficient, improve quality of analysis and deliver results faster.

Kiran is an Associate Director and Life Actuary working across the European and Bermudan market. He joined Aon in October 2022 as a Capital and Reinsurance specialist and was a founding member of Aon's Life Actuarial Consulting team.

He has extensive experience working on Aon's Pensions Captive proposition and leads on regulatory capital modelling.

Erin is a Qualified Actuary with 15 years of experience spanning Private Equity, Life and General Insurance.

She has led financial transformations, developed models, and optimised processes across a range of areas, including ALM, SII Credit Risk Capital, GI Commercial Lines Pricing, Cyber Insurance, and Exposure Management. 

Driven by her interest in the market implications of 2022 mini-budget, she joined the IFoA Liquidity Working Party in May 2024 to contribute to emerging liquidity risk discussions.

Client partner — 4most

Chris has extensive experience working with data and analytics in both banking and consulting roles, having held key leadership roles across PwC, Virgin Money, Lloyds Banking Group and Callcredit.  

Chris specialises in data and decisioning and is leading on the growth plan of 4most in data and decisioning.

Richard Quintian, Head of Pricing and Funded Reinsurance at Pension Insurance Corporation (PIC).

His responsibilities include leading PIC’s approach to Funded Reinsurance and he is also one of the deal leads at PIC for BPA transactions.

Richard joined PIC in 2011 and has worked in various departments, including Financial Reporting and Strategy, during his time at PIC.

Richard is a member of the IFoA’s UK Funded Reinsurance Working Party and a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries.

Natika Reddock, Senior Manager, EY

Natika works in EY’s Risk and Actuarial Services team and has been supporting firms on ICS activities over the past 10 years.

Varun is a Life Insurance Actuary with over 17 years of experience across the UK, EU, and Asian markets. He joined Aon in January 2025 to assist in the expansion of our actuarial life consulting practice in North EMEA and Bermuda and has extensive experience in Life insurance audits, IFRS 17 and Risk & Capital management.

Since joining Aon, Varun has been working closely with the team on our Pensions Captive proposition. Varun is also the deputy chair of the IFoA Life Lifelong learning committee.

As UK Life Insurance Lead at 4most, Naomi brings a wealth of actuarial experience, working across the UK and Swiss markets, and specialising in transformation and migration projects. She is a qualified actuary with a record of leading high performance delivery teams to support life insurers through complex transformation initiatives. Her work combines technical expertise, with a hands-on approach to solving clients' challenges.

She's passionate about the power of collaboration and the need to support and develop a happy, empowered team to ensure success. She prides herself on clear communication and building strong relationships, both within 4most, within her project teams and across the clients she works with.

The International Association for Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) has spent over 10 years developing the Insurance Capital Standard (ICS) as a consolidated group-wide capital standard for Internationally Active Insurance Groups

Over this period, the world’s largest insurance groups and regulators participated in field testing and confidential reporting exercises and influenced the evolution of the standard. The development of the standard has also influenced the development of local insurance regulations all over the world. The ICS was adopted by the IAIS in its annual general meeting in December 2024. So… what’s next?

In this session, we will cover:
