Nominations sought for the next President of the IFoA 

The next President of the IFoA will take over from Paul Sweeting in 2027 and serve for two years as President, from our AGM in 2027 to our AGM in 2029. They will serve as President-elect from our 2026 AGM. 

What does the role of IFoA President involve?

The President is the Chair of Council and will be a Member Non-Executive on the IFoA Board. They are a leader for the actuarial profession and will act as an ambassador for the IFoA.

The role requires a collaborative leader with strong communication and chairing skills. The holder will act as an exemplar of the principles and requirements set out in the IFoA’s Governance Manual and Volunteer Information Pack.

As Council’s representative on the IFoA Board, they should also have experience of operating at Board level, either as an Executive adviser or a Board member. Having experience of the IFoA’s main boards and committees would also be desirable.

Selection process

The President is elected by Council, and nominees must be a Fellow or Associate of the IFoA.

The period to submit nominations for the next President of the IFoA will remain open for a minimum of six weeks from 14 January 2026. The deadline for submissions is 12:00 GMT on Friday 13 March 2026.
