Today (27 November), IFoA President Paul Sweeting officially presented Professor Tim Lenton OBE with his Honorary Fellowship at Staple Inn.
Professor Lenton is the founding Director of the Global Systems Institute at the University of Exeter and Chair in Climate Change and Earth System Science and was elected as an Honorary Fellow in a member-wide vote in July.
Professor Lenton has worked extensively with the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries on a series of influential reports aimed at improving climate risk management in the financial sector: ‘The Emperor’s New Climate Scenarios’, ‘Climate Scorpion – the sting is in the tail’, and ‘Planetary Solvency – finding our balance with nature’.
The IFoA congratulates Professor Lenton on his Honorary Fellowship and looks forward to continuing to work with him in the future.
