IFoA launches thematic review on UK pension scheme design advice

23 September 2024

The IFoA Review Team has launched the pension scheme design thematic review. This will look at actuarial advice when benefit changes are proposed for UK defined benefit pension schemes.

The advice in this area ranges from changes to future benefits (including closure to new accrual) to adjustments to the timing or structure of accrued benefits and the consideration of discretionary pension increases. The review will look at current practices adopted by actuaries in pension scheme design affecting groups of scheme members. It will also cover the treatment of potential conflicts of interest.

This review is open to submissions from organisations until Friday 29 November.

To take part and for more information, see our current and planned reviews.
