Practising Certificates Committee – Pensions Panel – member

Application closing date: 1 March

Would you like to be part of the IFoA Practising Certificates Committee (PCC)?

The current Chair of the PCC, Karen Butroid, is seeking to appoint one Fellow to become a volunteer member of the Pensions Panel of the PCC to consider applications for Scheme Actuary Practising Certificates.

What we are seeking

Karen is very keen to hear from any qualified members of the IFoA who would like to discuss this role and find out more about what is involved. Expressions of interest are encouraged from Fellows with:

  • a current, or recent, PC in the relevant area
  • up-to-date knowledge of Scheme Actuary work.
  • knowledge of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries’ (IFoA’s) regulatory functions
  • an understanding of the PC Scheme and the competencies required for the relevant PC, as set out in the PC Handbook

Time commitment

As contributions are mainly carried out online, the time commitment is approximately, on average, a total of five hours per month, though maybe more between November and February.

There are also up to two full PCC review meetings each year. Participation in these meetings will be by videoconference, to ensure location is not a barrier. There is no requirement for all members of the committee to meet in one place.
