Are you passionate about shaping engaging and impactful content for the pensions community? The IFoA’s Pensions Lifelong Learning Sub-committee is seeking new members, including a Deputy Chair, to support its vital work in curating and delivering high-quality learning opportunities for pensions professionals.

This committee is responsible for developing content for a range of events, including a series of one-hour online webinars and an annual in-person event. By joining, you will be making a meaningful contribution to the professional development of your peers, helping to ensure they have access to timely, relevant, and insightful content.

Key focus for the committee

Our immediate goal is to source content for events beginning in March 2025. We are a small, dedicated group looking for enthusiastic and well-connected individuals to support our efforts and help ensure succession planning for the committee’s future growth and success.

What we’re looking for

We are seeking members with a:

  • strategic mindset and thoughtful views on how to enhance the IFoA’s event offerings, ensuring they reflect best practice and deliver real value to a diverse community of current and future members
  • collaborative spirit to work with fellow committee members to design and deliver an engaging programme of events – both online and in person—that meet the CPD needs of pensions professionals
  • willingness to promote events through personal social media channels, engage with IFoA communities online, and spark meaningful conversations within the profession
  • interest in new domains as the actuarial profession continues to diversify and expand into emerging sectors

Time commitment

On average, members are expected to attend one online meeting (approximately one hour) every 4 to 6 weeks, with some additional work on assigned actions in between. There is also the opportunity to chair webinars, which would involve some extra time commitment.
