Application closing date: 6 March
We are holding the next IFoA Asia Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in early October 2026. The conference aims to be a cross-practice forum for actuaries, industry specialists, stakeholders, and other professionals across Asia.
We are seeking to appoint proactive and innovative Technical Content Chairs. We welcome applications from IFoA Fellows or Associates. However, we aim to capture a diverse range of perspectives, so a place on the committee may also be offered to a student member or a lay (non-member) who can demonstrate relevant experience and valuable ideas on technical content.
The Technical Content Chairs are responsible for curating the conference’s technical content, ensuring its relevance, alignment with the theme, and appeal to the target audience. This role requires close collaboration with the Organising Committee, speakers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality sessions that reflect the latest trends and challenges in the actuarial profession.
Ideally, we would like to appoint a practice area Technical Content Chair for each prominent practice area. The chair will be the practice area lead and advise the Conference Chair on the best papers submitted for the conference within their practice area. They will be assisted in their choice of papers by the practice area Technical Content Committee members.
The time commitment is equivalent to 2 working days per month, including following up on actions to meet event schedule deadlines.
There will be a maximum of 8 meetings via conference call. All members of the committee are expected to attend every meeting.
The first meeting is scheduled for March 2026, and will be attended by representatives from the IFoA Southeast Asia Team, Events Team, and the Conference Chair.
