General Insurance - Delegated Underwriting Working Party - Members

Application closing date: 27 April

The IFoA is seeking to appoint both members and suitably experienced non-members to join the newly formed General Insurance Delegated Underwriting Working Party.

The working party will identify common pain points and potential improvements around the work of actuaries in the delegated underwriting space. This includes MGAs, carriers, brokers, consultants and regulators. To do this the group will perform interviews, surveys and host discussions with stakeholders, and produce a whitepaper in 2025.

The research will be of interest to actuaries in forecasting, reserving, pricing and non-actuarial roles related to MGAs, underwriters and brokers interested in actuarial work of MGAs, MGA technology providers.

To read more about the working party, see its terms of reference.

Time commitment

The time commitment varies but will not be more than a maximum of 8 hours per month. The working group will consist of regular meetings, every 2 to 4 weeks, with peaks expected in the early exploratory and later delivery stages.
