Are you an IFoA member passionate about the latest developments in the finance and investment world? Do you enjoy curating thought-provoking content and connecting with inspiring speakers? Are you able to connect with knowledgeable and engaging speakers? If so, we would like to hear from you.

The Finance and Investment Lifelong Learning Sub-committee plays a key role in shaping the IFoA’s member-led programme of in-person sessions and webinars – all designed to deliver fresh insights and professional value to the finance and investment actuarial community.

We are looking to bring in a range of perspectives to further enrich our already diverse committee.

As a committee member, you will:

• Help curate a topical and relevant events programme, both the webinar programme, and the in-person Sustainable Investment Symposium at Staple Inn.
• Identify and engage expert speakers from across the UK and beyond.
• Chair sessions and facilitate engaging discussions where appropriate.
• Work with a dynamic, global group of professionals in monthly one-hour online meetings.
• Follow up on actions and contribute ideas between meetings.

We are looking for actuaries who:

• Have a strong network within the finance and investment community.
• Stay tuned into emerging trends and developments across the sector.
• Are enthusiastic about creating engaging CPD opportunities for peers.
• Are happy to promote events through personal and professional networks.
• Bring a strategic mindset and enthusiasm for member-led learning.

Whether you are an experienced volunteer or new to IFoA committees, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a tangible impact, broaden your network, and shape conversations that matter to finance and investment actuaries today.

Time commitment

The time commitment on average is one day per month, though maybe more or less during different times of the year depending on the scheduling of the portfolio of events.
