Committee for Lifelong Learning in Risk Management – members

Application closing date: 5 January 2026

The IFoA’s lifelong learning committees play a vital and proactive role in shaping the content delivered through our online webinar programme and in-person (hybrid) one-day events. These events bring current, thought-provoking topics to life for our diverse member base,  supporting actuaries in staying relevant, informed, and connected in a hybrid working world.

We are currently seeking IFoA members to join the Committee for Lifelong Learning in Risk Management.

This is your chance to:

  • Influence the content of CPD and learning in a fast-evolving practice area
  • Collaborate with like-minded professionals across the IFoA’s community
  • Gain leadership experience and expand your professional network

What we are looking for

We welcome applications from individuals who can bring fresh perspectives and complementary expertise to the committee. In particular, we are seeking:

  • Innovative thinkers who can help shape engaging, forward-looking learning content for risk management professionals.
  • Diverse professional backgrounds including experience in areas such as enterprise risk, sustainability, financial risk, technology, or emerging risk domains.
  • Collaborative contributors who enjoy working as part of a team and sharing ideas to create inclusive, relevant events.
  • Advocates for diversity and inclusion, committed to ensuring our programme reflects a wide range of voices and viewpoints.
  • Active ambassadors willing to promote events through networks, social media, and IFoA Communities.

We are open to applications from fully qualified actuaries as well as student members who are passionate about risk management and eager to contribute to shaping lifelong learning opportunities.

Time commitment

The time commitment on average is a total of one to two days per month, though maybe more or less during different times of the year depending on the scheduling of the portfolio of events.  There is a meeting scheduled on 12 January 14.00 to 15.00.
