AI and Machine Learning in Pricing Working Party – Chair, Deputy Chairs and members

The IFoA is seeking to appoint both members and suitably qualified non-members to join the general insurance AI and Machine Learning in Pricing Working Party. This is a great opportunity to join as a founding member.  

The working party has an exciting remit in one of the most dynamic and rapidly evolving areas of actuarial science. It will focus on the practical applications and implications of AI and machine learning in general insurance pricing, underwriting and portfolio management. Its goal is to produce useful tools and guidance to pricing actuaries who are looking to implement these ideas in practice.  

The working party will cover both personal lines business and commercial / London market business.

We are also seeking a Chair for the overall working party and Deputy Chairs to lead individual workstreams.

Time commitment

The working party will meet quarterly, with additional workstream-focused meetings as required.

The overall time commitment for members is likely to be around 2 hours per month. The Chair and Deputy Chairs should expect to commit around 4 hours per month. Additional time may be needed to contribute to specific deliverables.
