Women Actuaries Community Committee – members

The IFoA Women Actuaries Community Committee was established in 2024 with a focus to provide opportunities to network and support members throughout their careers.  

We are seeking new members to join the committee, particularly for members to get involved in one of the following key activities.

Events:

  • Contribute to regular workstream meetings and attend community events where possible.
  • Lead or co-lead the planning of at least one event per year, with full support provided.
  • Support formal events by helping shape content, speakers, and discussions.

Communications:

  • Lead and deliver the community communications strategy across LinkedIn and IFoA channels.
  • Manage a forward communications calendar aligned to key activities.
  • Promote events and initiatives in collaboration with committee members.
  • Track engagement metrics and identify ways to increase reach and impact.
  • Act as the main contact for communications within the committee.

Global:

  • Support a central global coordination workstream.
  • Help deliver the IFoA strategy in key markets through partnerships or local growth.
  • Engage with the IFoA’s global network of committees and stakeholders.

Recruit and retain:

  • Attend and proactively contribute to regular workstream calls.
  • Actively contribute to discussions via email.
  • Lead or assist in the analysis of any data that pertains to the recruitment or retention of women in the profession.
  • Support the progression of the workstream, including helping to suggest next steps and people/organisations we could reach out to, where relevant. 

Being part of this committee is an opportunity to make a real difference to members and to contribute to the wider profession. 

Time commitment

Volunteers on average can expect a total commitment of one to two days per month, with activities spread across the month, including attendance at quarterly committee meetings.
