General Insurance Standards and Consultations Sub-committee – members

The General Insurance Standards and Consultations Sub-committee is seeking to appoint additional members. The sub-committee membership comprises of general insurance actuaries in technical support roles and client facing roles. New volunteers are welcome from either background. 

The sub-committee works with the IFoA’s Executive staff to consider consultations that have been delegated to it and drafts responses as appropriate, in accordance with the IFoA’s consultations process. The aim is to work collaboratively with other boards/consultation sub-committees as appropriate. This ensures responses represent the wider IFoA’s views. 

The sub-committee also participates with and liaises with external stakeholders and other IFoA working parties, as appropriate. Members have the opportunity to represent the IFoA’s view with external/other IFoA stakeholders. The sub-committee also provides input to help the IFoA ensure the development and maintenance of robust technical and ethical standards and non-mandatory resource material for the practice area.

Time commitment

The time commitment varies but will not be more than a maximum of 2 hours per month. The working group will consist of quarterly meetings with more regular meeting as required.
