The results of the 2026 Council election were announced at the IFoA’s AGM on 9 July 2026.
The retirees from the General constituency at the end of the 2025-26 sessional year are:
There were 9 vacant General constituency seats in this year’s election. 15 candidates stood for election in General constituency.

There are three retirees from the Scottish constituency at the end of the 2025-26 sessional year:
Only one candidate – Christopher Martis – stood for election for the sole vacant Scottish constituency seat in this year's election.

The IFoA would like to take this opportunity to thank not only those members retiring for their contribution as members of Council, but also all the candidates who stood for election for their excellent candidacy.

All Fellows, Honorary Fellows, and Associates of the IFoA are eligible to vote in the Council elections in the constituency they are a member of.
Voting takes place via a dedicated election website hosted by our election services provider. When it is election time, our provider will email you with the details of how to cast your vote.
The next Council election will take place in 2027.
