The eighteenth edition of our ‘think’ series has been authored by LCP’s Cat Drummond FIA C.Act, Daniel Sacks, and Charl Cronje FIA C.Act.
‘Hidden corridors’ argues that modern life depends on systems that are deeply interconnected, globally distributed and increasingly concentrated, such as food, water, energy, communications and finance.
These routes and systems are described as corridors, either physical (such as shipping lanes and pipelines) or institutional (like payment systems).
The purpose of the paper is to help organisations, policymakers and risk professionals think more clearly about how disruption spreads across interconnected systems, and how those disruptions can affect economic activity and social stability.
