IFoA Data Driven Futures programme enters third year across London and Edinburgh

3 June 2026

The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) has launched the third year of its Data Driven Futures programme, continuing its delivery across both London and Edinburgh following last year’s successful expansion.

The London programme ran from 26 to 29 May, and there will be a final one-day gathering on 3 August. The Edinburgh programme runs from 29 June to 8 July.

The initiative introduces students to data science and actuarial thinking through practical, real-world learning. It also provides paid actuarial work experience for young people aged 16 to 17, supporting those from diverse backgrounds, including students eligible for free school meals, to gain early exposure to the profession.

Building on strong feedback from earlier cohorts, the IFoA has further developed the curriculum and strengthened collaboration with industry partners. Students will benefit from enhanced mentoring, guest speakers, and project-based learning linked to real business challenges.

The programme remains focused on improving data literacy, developing analytical skills, and raising awareness of actuarial and related careers among young people.

As demand for data skills continues to grow, the IFoA sees the programme as an important step in supporting a diverse and future-ready talent pipeline.
