IFoA launches new AI, Data Science and Emerging Technologies Practice Board

The IFoA is pleased to announce the formation of a new practice board that will explore how transformative technologies are reshaping actuarial practice and influencing broader societal systems.

The AI, Data Science and Emerging Technologies (AIDSET) Practice Board is a member-led initiative developed in partnership between IFoA Council and the IFoA AI and Data Science Community. The new practice board will provide leadership in emerging field as members investigate the impact of AI, data science and new technologies on actuarial practice and society.

John Ng, Deputy Chair of the new practice board, is excited for its potential to help shape the future of actuarial work: “The AIDSET Practice Board’s focus on AI, data science and emerging technologies empowers our members with the skills and insights they need to navigate – and shape – the next era of actuarial work.”

The formation of the new practice board is an important step in ensuring actuaries remain leaders in a rapidly changing world, equipped to harness evolving technology and drive innovation in the actuarial profession.
