FRC opens consultation on proposed amendments to Technical Actuarial Standards for pensions

22 May 2023

The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) is conducting a consultation on proposed revisions to Technical Actuarial Standard 300 (TAS 300) and the introduction of Technical Actuarial Standard 310 (TAS 310).

The proposed revisions to TAS 300  include requirements for providing advice on setting actuarial factors and for bulk transfer exercises including buyout transactions with an insurer and transfers to a pension superfund. See TAS 300: Pensions, version 2.0 – Exposure Draft (1.50 MB PDF)

The proposed TAS 310 sets out the standards for actuarial work in relation to collective money purchase pension schemes to reflect the legislative framework for this new type of pension scheme. See TAS 310: Collective Money Purchase Pensions, version 1.0 – Exposure Draft (1.44 MB PDF)

The aim of these proposed changes is to ensure that the actuarial standards in relation to pensions reflect developments in the pension industry.

The FRC will be hosting a webinar on the proposed revisions at 15:00 on 31 May. You can register at Webinar: revision to actuarial standards in the pensions sector
