The election for the vacant General constituency seats on the IFoA Council opens on 10 May

The election for the vacant General constituency seats on the IFoA Council opens on 10 May.

There will be no election for the Scottish constituency this year as just one member, Yan Liu, stood as a candidate: his election to Council will be formally confirmed, alongside the results of the General constituency ballot, and other business of the meeting at our Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 15 June.

Members of both constituencies will be asked to vote on the appointment and remuneration of the IFoA’s external auditors, which is a standing item of business at our AGM.

All members who are eligible to vote will receive an email from our election services provider, Civica with an individual link to cast their vote.

Be sure to cast your vote before voting closes at 09.30 on 13 June 2022.

In the words of Louise Pryor, IFoA President: “Council consists of 30 elected members and makes the major decisions for the profession – it determines the mission, vision and values of the IFoA, sets strategy and oversees its implementation, and decides on major changes of policy. So voting in the Council elections is your chance to make a difference – the decisions Council makes depend crucially on who the Council members are.”

More information on the Council elections can be found on our website.

If you think you are eligible to vote in the election, and you do not receive an email from Civica (from the email address takepart@cesvotes.com), please check your junk mail filters. You can also contact James Harrigan, the IFoA’s Corporate Secretary, at james.harrigan@actuaries.org.uk.
