Wed 10 Jun 2026 - The interim findings of the FCA’s pure protection market study suggest that, in many respects, the market is working well for those who buy protection. They also point to important areas of focus, including the protection gap, claims ratios, and unnecessary switching.
We will examine what the results reveal about distribution models, customer outcomes, and where the FCA believes the market could work better. We will then consider what these findings may signal for insurers and distributors as the market responds.
