FAQS - Updates to our website, actuaries.org.uk

Following feedback from members (including volunteers and students) and extensive user experience testing, we will be launching an updated version of actuaries.org.uk on Monday 27 July.

This will be delivered in phases, with this initial release focused on improving the site’s structure and navigation, alongside some light content updates. The aim is to make the website easier to use, quicker to navigate, and more intuitive, helping you find what you need with less effort.

FAQs

We’ve updated actuaries.org.uk to make it simpler and more enjoyable to use, so you can find information and services more quickly and easily.

actuaries.org.uk will be temporarily unavailable on Monday 27 July 2026 while we complete the update. The website may be unavailable for up to half a day while testing and deployment activities are completed.

If you regularly use actuaries.org.uk, we recommend completing any urgent tasks in advance of the downtime.
During the update, a landing page will be available so you can still log in to your member portal

Services accessed via your member portal will remain unaffected.

The update introduces a cleaner, more structured website while keeping all existing content the same.

One of the main changes is a simpler menu. Each section (for example, Qualify or Standards) will now show top-level options displayed as descriptive tiles. These link to the same landing pages you can access today.

At the moment, the menu also includes links to more detailed pages, which can make it harder to use. In the new version, those detailed pages haven’t gone away; they’re just accessed from the landing pages instead of directly from the menu.

You will also notice:

  • Easier navigation around the site.
  • A refreshed look and layout.
  • Clearer journeys to help you find what you need, including direct links to the VLE, CMI and The Actuary.
  • Improved search functionality (where available).

Overall, the website should feel familiar but much simpler and easier to navigate.

No significant changes are required.

While actuaries.org.uk may look different, it has been designed to be straightforward and intuitive. The simplified menu and improved structure should make it easier to find what you need.
