Fairness and Inclusion Working Party – members

Application closing date: 27 April

The IFoA is seeking to appoint both members and suitably experienced non-members to join the newly formed general insurance Fairness and Inclusion Working Party.

The aim of the working party is to explore ways and help inform action to improve financial inclusion within the UK general insurance personal lines market.

Examples of the work we might do include:

  • conducting research to identify the factors most contributing to increased or decreased levels of financial inclusion in the general insurance market
  • analysing the effectiveness of existing regulation in contributing towards financial inclusion, for example GIPP, Consumer Duty
  • analysing potential sections of society being priced out of the general insurance market, for example certain locations, younger/older drivers
  • researching potential ways to address the key factors contributing to financial inclusion issues, including consideration of industry-led and regulator/government-led solutions. This will include analysis of the pros and cons of the possible options for a range of stakeholders including insurers, policyholders and government.
  • sharing proposed solutions and recommended actions with the government, regulators and other stakeholders. Provide insight to support the Financial Inclusion Committee and wider policy.
