We are seeking to appoint members to the new AI, Data Science and Emerging Technologies Practice Board.
The overarching purpose of the board is to act a source of expertise within the profession on matters relating to AI, data science and emerging technologies. It will have a key role in promoting, supporting and championing the interests of practice area members.
The board will include a mix of actuaries and if possible, at least one non-actuary with relevant expertise in AI, data science or emerging technologies.
We encourage candidates directly involved in AI or data science within insurance, finance and related industries to apply.
Qualified actuaries of all ages are encouraged to volunteer as well as other industry professionals. It is relevant experience and an ability to contribute that is required.
We are keen that this practice board includes representatives from a wide range of backgrounds and areas, to help ensure that we can holistically consider the issues faced by our membership as they arise.

It will require around one to two days per month, including attendance (dial in option available) at quarterly board meetings. There are also regular online meetings to work with other board members.
We encourage expressions of interest from suitably qualified members, especially those with an insight on emerging technologies. We are also seeking members with an international perspective or with international experience. IFoA membership is increasingly diverse from a geographical perspective, and it is important this is reflected in the board membership.
